1. Notice at Collection: Information, Purposes, and Retention
We collect information directly from you, automatically from your devices and interactions, and from providers that support payments, fulfillment, analytics, marketing, fraud prevention, and customer service. The categories involved depend on how you interact with us.
| Category and examples | Purposes | Disclosures and advertising |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers and contact information: name, email, phone number, billing and delivery addresses, account identifiers, IP address, cookie and device identifiers. | Accounts, orders, delivery, support, marketing choices, personalization, security, and responding to privacy requests. | Disclosed to providers supporting these activities. Online identifiers and contact information used for advertising matching may also be disclosed to marketing and advertising partners, which may constitute sale or sharing under applicable law. |
| Commercial information: purchases, cart activity, subscriptions, returns, claims, product interests, and loyalty or referral activity. | Process and service purchases, renewals, returns and claims; operate loyalty features; recommend products; measure and improve our services and marketing. | Disclosed to commerce, payment, fulfillment, subscription, returns, support, and marketing providers. Shopping events may also be shared with advertising partners. |
| Internet, device, and interaction information: browser and device details, approximate location inferred from IP address, pages viewed, searches, referring pages, clicks, scrolling, and interactions with our site, messages, and advertisements. | Operate the site, remember choices, analyze performance and usage, troubleshoot, personalize content, measure advertising, and support security. | Disclosed to hosting, analytics, personalization, and marketing providers. Identifiers, browsing activity, and related inferences may be shared with advertising partners. |
| Communications and content: support messages, chat content, reviews, ratings, photos, survey responses, and information you choose to submit. | Respond to requests, resolve issues, administer submissions and reviews, and improve our products and services. | Disclosed to support, review, and other relevant service providers. Reviews and associated content you publish may be publicly visible. Private support-message content is not collected for the purpose of sale or cross-context behavioral advertising. |
| Payment and transaction information: payment details provided at checkout, transaction status, and payment references. | Process payments, refunds, recurring payments you authorize, and fraud prevention. | Processed by Shopify and payment providers and disclosed as needed for transactions and security. Payment credentials are not collected for sale or cross-context behavioral advertising. |
| Age eligibility and preferences: age confirmation and information you provide about preferences, plus inferences about product interests from your activity. | Apply age restrictions, personalize services and marketing, and operate selected programs. | Disclosed to relevant service providers. Product-interest inferences may be used with advertising partners; age confirmation is used for eligibility and compliance. |
Sensitive information: Payment credentials and account access credentials may qualify as sensitive personal information under applicable law. Provide them only through the appropriate secure payment or account process, not through reviews or ordinary support messages. We use this information to provide the requested transaction or account service, support security, and meet legal obligations.
Retention: We retain each category for the time reasonably needed for the purposes above. The period depends on the relationship, active accounts and subscriptions, order and support history, applicable tax and alcohol-sales recordkeeping requirements, fraud prevention, disputes, and legal obligations. Device and interaction records are retained according to the relevant technology and provider settings and the analytical or advertising purpose. Marketing preferences and suppression records may be retained to respect opt-outs. Information subject to deletion may remain in restricted backups until normal deletion cycles, or be retained where legally permitted or required.
To exercise advertising opt-out choices, visit Your Privacy Choices. The sections below explain recipients, technologies, and your rights in more detail.
2. How We Use and Disclose Information
We use the information described above to provide and improve our store; fulfill and service purchases; administer subscriptions, returns, exchanges, package-protection requests, reviews, and loyalty programs; communicate with you; personalize and measure marketing; detect fraud; enforce agreements; and comply with legal obligations.
Our providers include Shopify for commerce and payments; Klaviyo and Attentive for marketing; Rebuy for recommendations and cart features; Okendo for reviews; Gorgias for customer support and chat; Rivo for loyalty and referrals; Redo for returns and Checkout+ features; and providers supporting subscriptions, fulfillment, shipping, and our mobile shopping experience. Providers receive information relevant to their functions. Checkout+ claims may involve shipping-protection providers identified in the coverage terms.
We may also disclose information to professional advisers, public authorities, and other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, address fraud or security issues, protect legal rights, or carry out a merger, financing, acquisition, or other business transfer. We may disclose information at your direction, such as when you publish a review or use a third-party shopping feature.
Shopify: Our store uses Shopify Network Intelligence, which allows Shopify to use information about interactions with our store together with information from other Shopify merchants to improve services, advertising, and personalization. Shopify processes some information on our behalf and some for its own services. See the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and Shopify Privacy Portal for Shopify’s practices and available choices.
3. Cookies, Analytics, Personalization, and Advertising
We and our providers use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies for store functions, preferences, analytics, marketing, and advertising measurement. Technologies on our site include Google analytics and advertising tools, Meta advertising tools, Klaviyo, Attentive, Instant, and Microsoft Clarity. These tools can collect identifiers, device details, browsing and shopping events, referral information, and interactions with messages or ads. Personalization and marketing tools may associate activity with a customer profile or contact information.
Microsoft Clarity: We use Clarity to understand interactions through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay, helping us improve the site and marketing. Clarity uses cookies and other tracking technologies to collect website interaction data. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement for Microsoft’s practices. Do not submit sensitive information in fields that do not request it.
Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising: Disclosing identifiers, contact information used for audience matching, shopping and browsing events, approximate location, and interest inferences to advertising partners can constitute a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” under state privacy laws, even without a monetary payment. These partners can use information to measure campaigns and show relevant advertising across websites and services. You can request to opt out through Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information / Your Privacy Choices.
The privacy-choice page provides controls for analytics, marketing, preferences, and sale of data, together with an email-based opt-out option. Browser settings may also let you block or delete cookies; doing so can affect store features. Device or browser choices may need to be renewed if you clear cookies, use another browser, or switch devices.
Global Privacy Control: Where applicable law requires, a valid Global Privacy Control signal is an opt-out request for sale or sharing for the browser or device sending the signal. Our privacy-choice page explains this option. You can also submit an opt-out request using that page or contact us if you need help. An advertising opt-out does not mean you will stop seeing all advertisements.
4. Email, Text Messages, and Customer Communications
We use contact information and relevant interaction data to provide the communications you request and, where permitted, marketing. Merely entering an email address somewhere on the site is not by itself a statement that you have agreed to every marketing program. Enrollment is governed by the choices and disclosures presented when you sign up.
Use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email to stop email marketing. Reply STOP to a marketing text to stop that text program, or follow the instructions in the message. Contact hello@drinkloverboy.com for help. Marketing opt-outs do not stop necessary transactional messages, such as order, subscription, security, or privacy-request communications. Subscription cancellation is separate from marketing opt-out.
Marketing providers may use cookies and similar technologies to associate your visits, cart activity, and interactions with communications. Customer chat providers process messages and related technical information to deliver support. Please avoid sending payment credentials or other unnecessary sensitive information in chat.
5. Your Privacy Rights and How to Exercise Them
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to access or know about your personal information, obtain a portable copy, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, opt out of sale or sharing and targeted advertising, limit certain uses of sensitive information, and appeal a denied request. Rights are subject to legal exceptions, including records needed for transactions, security, and compliance.
For access, correction, deletion, other privacy requests, or an appeal, email hello@drinkloverboy.com with the subject “Privacy Request” or “Privacy Appeal.” You may also use our Contact page. Describe the request and provide the information needed to locate your records. Do not send a password or full payment-card number. We may verify identity before granting access, correction, or deletion, and may request proof of an authorized agent’s permission. We do not require identity verification merely to opt out of sale or sharing, though information may be needed to identify the records affected.
Use Your Privacy Choices for advertising opt-outs. We respond to applicable rights requests within legally required timeframes and explain a denial and available appeal process where required. You may contact your state regulator if a concern remains unresolved. We do not discriminate for exercising applicable privacy rights.
6. Additional Information for California Residents
The category descriptions in Section 1 explain the personal information involved in our consumer services, its sources and purposes, recipient categories, advertising disclosures, and retention criteria. California residents have applicable rights to know, access, correct, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, limit qualifying uses of sensitive personal information, and receive equal treatment. Use the methods in Section 5 to exercise those rights. We use sensitive account and payment information for the requested services, security, and legally permitted operational purposes.
California residents may also request information about certain disclosures to third parties for their own direct marketing under California Civil Code Section 1798.83 by emailing hello@drinkloverboy.com with the subject “California Shine the Light Request.”
Loyalty and promotional programs: Participation in rewards, referral, or marketing-signup offers is optional. Relevant information may include contact details, purchases, participation, and preferences. Benefits and eligibility are described in the offer or program terms, including on our Rewards page. You may unsubscribe from marketing or contact us to withdraw from a program. Some benefits require the information necessary to administer the program; applicable privacy rights remain available.
7. Children and Age Restrictions
Our store and marketing are intended for adults age 21 or older. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and address it. California law requires authorization for the sale or sharing of information of consumers known to be under 16; our advertising and shopping services are not intended for that audience.
8. Security, International Processing, and Other Websites
We use safeguards designed to protect personal information, but no online service or transmission is completely secure. Our store is operated in the United States, and providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers are subject to applicable legal safeguards. Third-party websites, payment services, apps, social networks, and shopping platforms have their own privacy practices. Review their notices when using those services.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our services, practices, or legal obligations change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Where required, we provide additional notice or obtain consent for material changes; posting a revised policy does not replace consent required by law.
